Outreach
The Cuba Samaniego Lab is committed to advancing education and collaboration in the fields of synthetic biology, systems biology, and biomolecular control. We organize international computational workshops and mentoring initiatives to make quantitative modeling and control theory accessible to the biological sciences.
Engineering Biological Control Programs (EBCP) Workshop
The Engineering Biological Control Programs Workshop (EBCP) is an international virtual course focused on the computational design and analysis of synthetic genetic circuits. Participants learn how to model, simulate, and analyze biological control systems using modern computational tools, with an emphasis on applying feedback and control principles to genetic regulation.
The workshop combines interactive lectures, guided coding exercises, and open discussions to help students bridge concepts between biology and systems engineering.
Learn MoreBiocontrol Seminars
Biocontrol Seminars is an international online seminar series dedicated to cutting-edge research in the control of biological systems. The series brings together work at the intersection of Systems and Synthetic Biology, Control Theory, Physics, Computer Science, and Applied Mathematics.
Topics include modeling, inference, simulation, filtering, and control of reaction networks; in-vivo and in-silico control of biological systems; homeostasis, noise exploitation, synthetic circuit implementation, and biological networks as computing machines.
The seminar aims to provide a common forum for discussion and collaboration, fostering interactions between junior and established researchers across academia and industry.
The seminar runs once a month, with each session consisting of a 45-minute talk followed by open discussion.
